"Godzilla" won't be the only monster coming to town when it stomps into theaters on May 16. In fact, as the new trailer attests, the monster Godzilla may be the least of our worries in the film.

While previous trailers have shown Bryan Cranston giving monologues, the new trailer showcases the notorious Godzilla monster, known as kaiju, front and center, and the trailer doesn't stop there. The latest "Godzilla" preview is packed to the gills with creepy monsters. Produced by Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures and director Gareth Edwards, the newest iteration of the central "Godzilla" monster is a tamer version of some even more fearsome monsters, including a flying kaiju. The monsters are called "the Muto," and they are genetically modified monsters that are generally the same size as Godzilla.

The plot for the upcoming film reads: "An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatureswho, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence."

In the film, Ken Watanabe is a scientist who believes that mankind's best chance for survival is to let the monsters fight each other to the death.

The trailer also features a voice-over by Cranston.

"Whatever it is that's in there - whatever it is that they're guarding so carefully - it's real," Cranston whispers. "God help us all."

The trailer features Godzilla battling a winged creature, with hundreds of people looking on.

The trailer ends with Watanabe saying, "The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in its control, and not the other way around. Let them fight."

The film also stars Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Juliette Binoche and Sally Hawkins.
