"Fallout 4" was so successful that a lot of the game's hardcore fans managed to earn the elusive Platinum Trophy literally days after the game was launched. For fans of the franchise, of course, one can never have too much "Fallout." Those of us who played the game since its first iteration came out all those years ago know this to be true.

It's undeniable that "Fallout 4" was an extremely well-made game. A massive open world that a player is free to explore, quests that are challenging and just fun enough to keep gamers going, and an ending that blew the minds of players all over the world (those who chose that option upon entering the Institute would know), after all, is enough to endear the game to its millions of fans.

For for us players, there always has to be more, and with a season pass already available, "Fallout 4" fans are clamoring for the game's upcoming DLC. However, Bethesda has been pretty quiet about the topic, until now, reported Gamespot.

In a tweet on Thursday, Bethesda has assured fans that the highly anticipated DLC for the critically-acclaimed "Fallout 4" would be coming pretty soon.

Of course, the words "not far off" might mean a number of things, and had it originated from the rumor mill, it would not have meant much. However, the announcement came from Bethesda itself. In a way, the words came straight from the horse's mouth.

With the announcement, many fans are predicting that the DLC for the latest game in the franchise would be announced in E3. After all, last year alone, Bethesda used the event as a venue for a massive announcement. That is not all, however, as another tweet from the game developer was released on the same date, teasing fans on the DLC's tweaks on the game's Survival Mode, reported Attack of the Fanboy.

Bethesda has so far earned a pretty good track record when it comes to DLCs for the "Fallout" franchise. The DLCs for "Fallout 4's" predecessor, "Fallout 3," for one, have been immensely successful among players and critics alike.

However, it is quite undeniable that with Bethesda's announcements, the company has just set the bar extremely high for itself, since the announcements have ended up fuelling fans' expectations even more. Nevertheless, this is Bethesda we are talking about, and the "Fallout" series rarely disappoints.

With Bethesda's promise, one can only hope that the DLC comes fast enough.
