In an official: Nintendo has confirmed its plans for E3 2014 as well as the Smash Bros. tournament in a new Mega64 video announcement.

The Nintendo Digital Event, as the company calls it, will take place on June 10 at 5:00 p.m. U.K. time. It will feature an E3 2014 video presentation, which will unveil more specific details about Nintendo's plans for its future entertainment experiences coming to Nintendo gaming platforms later this year and after.

This could be the start of Nintendo's new lineup of games and possibly the announcement of reviving classic names like Zelda and Mario. Some are also speculating about a redesigned Wii U console and gamepad. Still, these are big predictions for the gaming company and the fans can only expect to be surprised.

What the gaming community should expect on the E3 showroom floor, or Treehouse as it is called, is a showcase of unscripted and live demos of future projects by Nintendo. These demos will also be viewable online via live stream during the entirety of the gaming expo.

Another exciting event looked forward to by many fans and experienced gamers alike is Nintendo's plan to host the first Super Smash Bros. Invitational Tournament to be held in LA Live Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. Sixteen veteran players of the game will be invited by Nintendo to compete and be watched online by millions of fans across the globe.

On the same day as E3, Best Buy stores across North America will be hosting Super Smash Bros. games playable in their stores. A similar arrangement was introduced last year, where the demos of the E3 lineup were made available for trial.

Watch out for further highlights and announcements as Nintendo makes its way back to the competitive gaming industry.
