Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo made it clear that he would fight again only if it would be against last conqueror Conor McGregor, and it seems president Dana White is seriously considering it.

Aldo wants immediate payback on the Irishman who dealt him a quick 13-second defeat at UFC 194 in December.

’Scarface’ took exception to the fact that Frankie Edgar was being groomed to be next in line for McGregor when in fact he should have first crack since he was the previous champ.

Though Aldo’s relationship with the UFC hasn’t exactly been that smooth, White said recently that would talk to the Brazilian fighter and discuss his possible next opponent, via ESPN Brazil.

Based on the tone of White, it seems that he is hinting at a possible rematch between the two rivals soon. Though that could be swell for Aldo, it does leave Edgar wondering about the verbal promise made earlier to him when he took out Chad Mendes at UFC Fight Night 22 back in December.

Edgar disposed of Mendes in less than five minutes at the time and such lined him up for a possible title shot. However, that was before succeeding developments happened, which included the 13-second win of ‘The Notorious’,  via Fox Sports.

Edgar has since been waiting on the call, and until recently, it was believed it would likely take place after UFC 196. McGregor will be facing the UFC lightweight champion next month as he tries to become the only UFC fighter to win two different division titles.

McGregor still holds the featherweight title and is expected to defend it next. The only question now is when.

It is likely that McGregor will fight again at UFC 200 with the featherweight title on the line this time around. Before Aldo came into the picture, it was believed that Edgar would be primed up for that date.

'I was quiet for a while because I was waiting for my rematch based on how the fight went down, in fact, I was already training for it, but apparently I was wrong,” said Aldo who is also open to a possible title-fight in case McGregor wins over dos Anjos and opts to relinquish the featherweight title, as mentioned on the Daily Mail.

Things have gotten personal between Aldo and McGregor, who says he simply wants revenge on the Irishman with or without the title belt on his waist.

However, right now, everything falls in the hands of White. Though the sudden change of heart may be surprising, it is not the first time he has done so.

Whatever he decides next, it will likely be announced after UFC 196 this coming March 5.
