Does Amanda Bynes even know how to not be in the news at this point? In what has been an ongoing saga of self-promotion and incrimination, Bynes' odd behavior has once again landed her front and center of the public eye.

Her offense this time? Having to go to court for allegedly tossing a bong. That in and of itself is odd enough, but anyone who has followed Bynes for any length of time knows that she couldn't just stop there. The former Nickelodeon star turned more than a few heads when showed up in court today sporting a bright blue wig.

Her court appearance, which was just a meeting to set up a pretrial hearing, steams from an incident that occurred May 23, when police officers were called to her apartment. Apparently, someone at Bynes' residence had thrown a bong out of her New York City apartment.

So far, Bynes has firmly denied these allegation, though given her track record, it's not so easy to believe her. A simple denial of the charges simply wouldn't do, however, and the movie and television star decided to up the ante by accusing the arresting officers of sexually abusing her.

"[I was handcuffed] which I resisted ... then I was sent to a mental hospital. Offensive. The cop sexually harassed me, they found no pot on me or bong outside my window," Bynes tweeted. "That's why the judge let me go," Bynes has been quoted as saying. An investigation by the police department found no evidence of any inappropriate behavior by officers.

There is no word yet on what will become of her sexual abuse allegations. As for the pretrial hearing, that has been rescheduled for Aug. 26. The first day that Bynes will actually have to show up in court will be one month later on Sept. 26.

The future is not looking especially bright for the former child star. Bynes has been involved in a plethora of socially questionable, and often downright bizarre, behavior. This past year she has already made highly aggressive sexual advancements on rapper Drake via Twitter, stripped down to her panties in a yoga studio, called just about every living person ugly, and has also had quite a bit of legal trouble, including an outstanding DUI charge.
