For the late '80s and early '90s kids, "Power Rangers" is likely part of their childhood. The "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" are back and this time, they will be hitting the big screens.

Story Plot

Per ComicBook, Lionsgate has released a brief outline of the story plot of their anticipated film "Power Rangers."

According to the studio, the film will follow the journey of five ordinary high school kids from the small town of Angel Grow. However, they will soon discover that there are alien threats targeting their hometown and the entire world. All five will have to resolve their personal issues and work together as one team to protect the world.

io9 thinks that, at this point, the plot is very generic. It lacks the craziness that many expected from it. However, it's a great thing that the production decided to stick into the storyline that most "Power Rangers" fans know.

Production Begins

For those who are dying to see the first superheroes that inspired their childhood again, your wish will soon be granted. IGN reported that the production of "Power Rangers" has just begun in Vancouver, Canada.

Elizabeth Banks Will Be The Villain

According to We Got This Covered, the "The Hunger Games" star Elizabeth Banks will take the opposing force in the film. Yes, Banks will be the big, bad villainess for the first time. So, for those who want to see the rogue persona of the "Pitch Perfect" star, this film will be something you should look forward to seeing.

Cast & Crew

"Power Rangers" stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Bill the Blue Ranger, Ludy Lin as Zack the Black Ranger, Becky G as Trini the Yellow Ranger and Naomi Scott as Kimberly the Pink Ranger. The film is directed by Dean Israelite, who helmed "Project Almanac."

Per the report, several writers are involved in the screenplay for the big-screen reboot. Among these are "Real Steel" writer John Gatins, "The Last Witch Hunter" screenwriters Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, "X-Men: First Class" writers Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller, and "Chronicle" writer Max Landis.

Many are concerned how the group of writers will work together for the reboot, knowing that all of them have done their own big projects in the past. It is difficult to sense the tone of the film, but many are looking forward to a fun and ridiculous film.

Saban's "Power Rangers" will hit the big screens on March 24, 2017.
