Donald Trump's plan to put a wall on the border of Mexico may affect the United State's milk supply.

Dairy farmers are afraid and frustrated at Presidential Candidate Donald Trump's immigration policies, including the putting of a wall in the Mexican border. Mike McMahon, a dairy farmer, is reportedly angry at the spiel of the Republicans Trump and Senator Ted Cruz about sending immigrants back to their country. He says that a lot of work, particularly in dairy farming is dependent upon the labor of immigrants.

"It's so easy to blame these Hispanic workers for taking their jobs," McMahon said as reported by CNN. "I can tell you they're not taking jobs. They are filling holes. We need these people. I cannot get local workers to do the jobs that that these guys are doing. And every other dairy farmer will say the same thing."

McMahon has disclosed to hiring workers without proper documentation but says that it's hard to find non-immigrants that want to work on the farm as it is labor intensive.

The National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) published a report stating the loss of immigrant workers will result in higher milk prices, which in turn will cost the United State's economy more than 32 billion dollars. The reported survey also found that most farmers are not overly concerned of the employment papers of their immigrant workers.

According to the group, the price of milk per gallon will increase by more than 80 percent, which will lead to a double price increase. Additionally, the new report found that a third of the dairy farm labor work force is immigrants and the loss of them will result in a financial catastrophe for the United States and decrease the country's milk and herd production.

"This report reinforces the urgent need for Congress to address this issue," NMPF President and CEO Jim Mulhern said. "Farms that rely on hired foreign workers need their current labor force as well as an effective program to ensure an adequate future workforce. And the way to do that is to enact comprehensive immigration reform."

According to the San Diego Free Press, most Americans support the "Mexican border wall" and all the proposed immigration policies to protect the country against illegal immigrants. Supporters think that illegal immigrants are responsible for terrorism, sex trades and other crimes and that prevention of undocumented people from entering the country may stop it. However, the website points out that the US State Department's Report on Terrorism found that there are no terrorist organizations in Mexico and no US citizen was harmed by a terrorist group in Mexico.
