A new CNN Poll of Polls survey finds Republican front-runner Donald Trump on the verge of upsetting both Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor John Kasich in their home states for the 2016 Republican Primary Elections.

Trump Leads in Florida, in Ohio Neck-and-Neck with Kasich

In Florida, Trump leads Rubio 40 percent to 26 percent, with Texas Senator Ted Cruz third at 18 percent, 10 points ahead of Kasich. In Ohio, Trump leads Kasich 36 to 34 percent, with Cruz third at 17 percent and Rubio a distant fourth at just 8 percent.

Poll of Polls Billed as a Composite Snapshot of Leading Polls

The Poll of Polls survey is billed as a composite average of a number of recent surveys.  Among the polls analyzed in both states were the Suffolk University Poll; the Quinnipiac University Poll; The Monmouth University Poll; the CNN/ORC Poll; the Fox News Poll and the Washington Post/Univision Poll.

Polls open in both Florida and Ohio on Tuesday, March 15.

Rubio Advised to Drop out of Race

The Latin Post recently reported that some of Rubio's handlers were even advising him to drop out of the race prior to polls opening in Florida, fearing a home turf loss could have dire consequences on a potential run for governor in 2018.

"He doesn't want to get killed in his home state," one source familiar with the discussions taking place within his inner circle admitted, adding, "A poor showing would be a risk and hurt his political future."

Despite Rubio having struggled to post primary victories in just Puerto Rico and Minnesota, campaign manager Alex Conant has staunchly denied all the rumors about their being friction within his inner circle.

"That is fiction," he told CNN. "I was sitting in a senior staff meeting planning out next week's schedule when I saw this report suddenly air and I came racing across town to correct it."

On the Democratic side, the same Poll of Polls survey found Hillary Clinton leading Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders 62 to 31 percent.
