When it comes to her hold on the title of having the most number of followers on Instagram, Taylor Swift won't be singing "You belong with me" anymore as "Everything has changed."

However, losing will be easier to swallow for the 26-year-old pop star as the new most popular person on Instagram is a member of her Girl Squad.

Selena Gomez Is Now the Most Popular Instagram User

Selena Gomez just recently amassed 69.3 million followers on Instagram, which is enough to bump off her best pal Swift from the top spot. Swift comes in at close second with 69.1 million of her own. The BFFs are being trailed by Kim Kardashian at the third spot with 63.6 million followers, Ariana Grande at fourth place with 63.1 million and Beyonce with 63 million.

Gomez decided to take it to Snapchat on Saturday, March 12, to express her gratitude to her fans. "Hey guys. I'm officially the number one most followed on Instagram. Thank you!" she posted.

It seems like the sudden surge of Gomez's popularity on Instagram won't be waning anytime soon with the announcement of her "Revival Tour" this 2016 and more screen appearances. The "Same old love" and "Hands to myself" singer will be part of an upcoming TV show and a couple of movies.

Swift had been lording it over from the top spot for a while before she was overtaken by Gomez. Singer and record producer Beyonce as well as Kim Kardashian have both been there. And, no one knows for sure how long Gomez can retain her reign as Instagram's latest queen.

Gomez Is a Big Celine Dion Fan

Meanwhile, Gomez was recently spotted hanging out with Canadian singer and songwriter Celine Dion during a backstage meet and greet at the latter's performance for her Vegas residency at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace.

The young star also shared photos of her and some friends via Snapchat, where they can be seen wearing Celine Dion concert T-shirts during the performance.

Dion resumed her Las Vegas residency back in February following the death of her husband René Angélil. Angélil is a music manager, who succumbed to throat cancer in January at the age of 73.

"René is the only man that I have known all my life," Dion said during one of her performances. "He always made me feel that we were on our first date, isn't that amazing? Never talking bluntly, and always impressing himself in a soft and gentle way. We were one. And nothing has changed we will always be one."
