The chase for an escaped British spy intensifies on this week's season finale of "NCIS."

But all eyes will assuredly be on Michael Weatherly, set to star in his final episode of the longrunning series as Agent Tony DiNozzo.

Though he refrained from offering many direct clues about how his character's ending might come about, he did recently share with reporters he is convinced it will leave fans thinking "holy s**t."

Weatherly also predicted reaction to his final episode after 13 seasons will be "overwhelmingly positive."

Could DiNozzo be Back?

In what could be yet another hint of what's planned for DiNozzo, he added that he would be open to one day guest starring in the series.

As for DiNozzo's final episode as a series regular, he reflected, "I discovered an aspect of DiNozzo that had never been revealed before and it truly surprised me. I didn't recognize Michael Weatherly at all, and very little Tony DiNozzo, It was more like DiNozzo to give Gibbs (Mark Harmon) mouth-to-mouth resuscitation than this thing he does in the final episode."

Gibbs Gets Emotional

Indeed, the "Family First" entitled episode features a scene where DiNozzo gets close and personal with both Abby and Gibbs, who implores his now ex right hand man to take care of himself.

Meanwhile, it remains unclear how Cote de Pablo's Ziva David character will be involved in the sendoff episode, though she has already confirmed that she will not be actually appearing on the show.

The season 13 finale airs on Tuesday, May 17, on CBS, beginning at 8 p.m. With Weatherly's departure, Harmon, David McCallum (Ducky Mallard) and Pauley Perrette (Abby Sciutto) remain as the only original cast members.

In the wake of Weatherly's departure, Sarah Clarke (FBI Agent Tess Monroe) and Duane Henry (MI6 Officer Clayton Reeves) have been signed as new cast members.
