Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, often referred to as the Queen of Tejano music, may have passed 21 years ago, but that has not kept her family and fans from keeping her memory alive.

On May 26, the Quintanilla family shared a throwback video on Facebook from a rarely seen performance of "Amor Prohibido" by Selena y Los Dinos on the Johnny Canales show in 1994.

Canales had an important role in helping Selena y Los Dinos launch their careers. The television host gave the group one of their first live performances when Selena was still a child. He also helped the group get their first concert in Mexico.

The "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" singer has remained very relevant in pop culture with various tributes and concerts in her honor, as well as an exclusive makeup collection by cosmetic giant M.A.C to come in October 2016.

Recently, at the 2016 Latin Billboard Awards the singer won a posthumous Female Artist of the Year award, beating out Ana Gabriel, Chiquis Rivera and Natalia Jiménez.
