Mexico and Paraguay will continue their Copa America 2016 Centenario preparations on Saturday with an international friendly.

Both teams are poised to make noise in their respective groups with Mexico perhaps more highly favored for a deep run in the tournament.

Mexico has veterans...

Coach Juan Carlos Osorio opted for a veteran squad for this tournament, giving Mexico the best shot at a major tournament victory in years. The goaltending situation is rather questionable at this point with three veterans competing for the opening spot. The defense has such stalwarts as Rafa Marquez, Hector Moreno and Paul Aguilar among others. Midfield is minimal with only four players called up but the forward group is loaded up with a wealth of options.

Javier Hernandez will look to add to his load as Mexico's second best scorer all-time. All he needs are four more goals to pass Jared Borgetti as the top scorer all-time for the team.

...So does Paraguay

Paraguay also brought along a veteran side to the tournament with 38-year-old goalie Justo Villar likely getting his last chance at winning a tournament. He has been a part of the team since the 2002 World Cup and led the team deep into the 2010 World Cup tournament. He also led the team a year ago, playing four games as the team finished fourth place in the 2015 Copa America.

Paulo da Silva will captain the team at 36, likely his swansong on the international tournament. Nelson Valdez, 32, will provide the main threat on offense as well.

Mexico and Paraguay have faced off on 17 different occasions with Mexico holding an edge in wins. El tri has won eight matches, drawn five and lost four. The team is currently on a three-game winning streak against Paraguay, dating back to 2007 when the Mexicans won 6-0 in the Copa America.
