Argentina looks to lock up the top spot in Group D when it faces Bolivia on Tuesday in the Copa America.

This game is only really important for Argentina and even then the team might not have to put in its best shift. Thanks to two victories, Argentina has already clinched a spot in the next round. The fact that it won 5-0 in its recent game against Panama means that the team would need to see Chile win by a massive margin to walk away with the top spot in Group D.

Bolivia meanwhile has nothing to play for, losing against Chile in the 10th minute (!) of stoppage time in its game on Friday. It was the second straight game in which the team faltered late in the game and wound up losing 2-1.

Messi the Great

Argentina's big story in its 5-0 win was the return of captain Lionel Messi. Messi was arguably the most hyped aspect of this entire tournament with American fans scouring Soldiers Field just to see the Barcelona legend and arguably best player in the world come to play. He did not feature in the Chile game on Monday though it was expected that he would factor into this game.

Coach Gerardo Martino opted for leaving him on the bench to start the game and bring him on later to potentially put the game away. He did just that, scoring two goals in 20 minutes and eventually adding a hat trick before he had played for 30 minutes on the field. As if that was not enough, he made a brilliant long range pass that set up the final Argentina goal.

It is possible that Messi winds up resting up in the Bolivia game as well. With nothing on the line, Messi could start on the bench or be subbed off once Argentina is in control of the result it desires. Messi has a ton of mileage, as does most of this Argentina side, having contested two finals in the last two summers. If it intends on a similar run, the team needs to rest its top stars.

Player to Watch

After the performance he gave on Friday, Messi is undeniably the man to keep an eye out for. He is a man on a mission and he clearly wants to add some Argentina trophy to his cabinet and get rid of the label of choke artist for his country. If he plays the way he did in the Panama game, then Argentina will have no trouble in this match.

History Favors Argentina

Argentina has dominated Bolivia throughout their histories, winning 26 contests, drawing five and only losing six. Argentina is currently on a three-game winning streak against Bolivia, with all three victories coming in the last year; the aggregate score for those games has been 14-0.

Prediction

Argentina continues its strong display, destroying Bolivia 4-0.
