Bayern Munich and Manchester City face off in an international friendly on Wednesday.

The match will kick off Pep Guardiola's reign with Manchester City and it will ironically come at the place that he coached for the last three years.

Guardiola's time at Munich

Guardiola won three League titles with Munich but unfortunately never quite managed to lead the team to the heights it reached prior to his arrival during the 2013-14 season. Munich of course won the treble in 2012-13 and many expected Guardiola to repeat the feat at some point. But he continually fell at the semifinal hurdle of the Champions League losing out to Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in all three years.

His reign starts at City

Now he heads to Manchester City with the aims of lifting the English side to being a contender. He has already made some big moves for the club bringing in Ilkay Gundogan and Nolito into the fold to help the team's offense. It is expected that he will implement his supreme possession style but there is no knowing whether it is impactful in the more physical English Premier League.

Ancelotti arrives in Munich

Taking over for Guardiola at Munich is beloved coach Carlo Ancelotti. Last time the Italian was behind the bench he led Real Madrid to a fruitless season in 2014-15. He was beloved by players and had helped the club win the Champions League title in 2013-14. The team's two big moves this summer include bringing in Portuguese star Renato Sanches and Germany's Mats Hummels.

Prediction

A 1-1 draw.
