It seems like it is finally time for Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) to lose her virginity after tying the knot with Michael Cordero, Jr. (Brett Dier) in the “Jane the Virgin” Season 2 finale.

But it is not clear if they will do the deed in this upcoming season given Michael’s current situation.

How will fans feel when Jane finally crosses into womanhood? Some diehard fans are still Team Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni) despite the recent wedding.

“I still think that Jane and Rafael belong together! Jane and Rafael are soulmates!” Facebook User Laura Fawcett says. “Michael and Petra need to run off with each other. No one likes them anyways”

Meanwhile, others have let Michael grow on them. Especially after he went through the work to say his vows to Jane in Spanish.

“I was always Team Rafael but the last few episodes and especially the finale had me on Team Michael,” Facebook User Catrina Wylie said. “He made me tear up during the wedding.”

Jane and Michael

Meanwhile, Michael seems to have gotten into a bit of trouble in the Season 2 finale, after he found out that his crooked police partner Susanna Barnett (Megan Ketch), was the mastermind behind crime lord Sin Rosetra.

He made the connection, approached her on the issue, and she “killed him” in order to keep the dark secret.

Yet, fans are not sure if Michael is actually dead after that Season 2 finale cliffhanger. Will he survive the attack? Did the bullet actually puncture his heart? Will he be in a coma, forcing Jane to decide between pulling the plug or keeping him a vegetable?

It is possible that the wound was fatal given Season 1’s narration, “And for as long as Michael lived, until he drew his very last breath, he never did stop believing that he and Jane were meant to be together.”

And if Jane is left a young widower, she will still remain a virgin until another Mr. Right comes along. That just might give Team Rafael some hope.

Jane’s Virginity

Rodriguez says that her character will lose her virginity, but did not disclose to whom she will give it to.

She also said that fans will “see” Michael in “Jane the Virgin” Season 3, but does not say if they will see him dead or alive.

If he is alive, she and her husband might lie in bed together. If he is dead, then she might run into the arms of Rafael and make that big decision out or grief and impulse.

Tune into The CW to catch the “Jane the Virgin” Season 3 premiere on Monday Oct. 17.
