“Lucifer” is returning to FOX with the mother from Hell (Tricia Helfer) reigning down on her son Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) for leaving the gates of Hell unattended.

In the Season 2 finale, Lucifer returned to Hell after being fatally shot. To his surprise, a few captives had escaped, including his mother.

“There’s no telling what she will do to get her revenge,” Lucifer tells his therapist Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) in the “Lucifer” Season 2 trailer.

Lucifer’s Shrink

Since taking a vacation in Los Angeles, Lucifer has decided to talk to a therapist each week in order to get over his “Daddy issues.”

Now for Season 2, he and his therapist will explore a new topic; his mom.

“You never mentioned your mother before,” Linda tells Lucifer.

“She is going to kill me,” the devil replied.

What is Lucifer’s mom so mad at? Will Lucifer reveal that deep dark secret to his therapist?

Lucifer and Chloe

One of Lucifer’s main driving forces of staying on Earth is to spend more time with Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German).

He found out in “Lucifer” Season 1, that being near Chloe makes him physically weak. What is the cause of that?

It can’t be that she is an angel because Lucifer had already given her the “wing check.”

“I have faith in you, in us,” Chloe tells Lucifer in a scene for the “Lucifer” Season 2 trailer.

Have they taken their relationship to the next level in Season 2? Chloe has already expressed some interest in Lucifer when she was drunk and had just gotten rejected by her ex-husband Detective Dan (Kevin Alejandro).

Could she be falling for Lucifer? After all, her crooked cop ex-husband is secretly evil. Maybe she has a thing for men with a devilish side.

Lucifer and his Brother

Meanwhile, Lucifer and his brother Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) have finally made amends after fighting over Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt).

Will their search for her bring them even closer together? No one knows where Lucifer’s guardian has gone, but they do know that she hates being on Earth.

Dirty Detective Dan

Meanwhile, Chloe has yet to find out that her ex-husband was the second dirty cop behind the big case she thought she had cracked. Which she did, but he convinced her that she didn’t in order to cover is tracks.

Will she ever find out the truth? If so, how will Lucifer punish the man she loves so much? You know he literally has a soft spot for Chloe.

Tune into FOX on Monday Sept. 19 at 9 p.m. EST for the premiere of “Lucifer” Season 2.
