Months of trash-talking, a date change from UFC 200 to UFC 202, and a pre-fight presser that turned into a bottle throwing contest didn't stop Conor McGregor from exacting revenge against Nate Diaz on Saturday night. The video highlights are provided down below.

The 155-pound Irishman defeated Diaz by majority decision - 48-47, 48-47, and 47-47 for McGregor - in one the sport's most memorable fights of the last decade. The rematch came five months after Diaz shocked McGregor, and the UFC world, in a middleweight bought Diaz took on short notice.

McGregor-Diaz 1 was one notch above McGregor's accustomed featherweight class. Last night, McGregor was exactly where he needed to be, going punch-for-punch with the Northern California native.

The pro-Diaz Las Vegas crowd responded with every big left-jab, and support only grew as Diaz flipped McGregor the bird in the third round.

Head games worked at UFC 196. Not so much on Saturday night.

"Surprise, surprise, [expletive], the king is back! If you want this trilogy, it's on my terms," McGregor shouted after his victory.

While Diaz said McGregor deserved the victory, he was already looking past it.

"I came here to fight. I want No. 3, I gave him No. 2, so let's do it," Diaz said.

Social Media Reaction

Everyone from The Rock to MTV personality Rob Dyrdek shared their thoughts on social media. They, like most UFC fans, cannot wait for McGregor-Diaz 3.

A Much-Needed Trilogy

McGregor-Diaz 3 will be one of the most anticipated rematches in recent memory. And it comes at a time of transition for the UFC.

Last month, UFC President Dana White confirmed that the organization he and brothers Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta bought for $2 million was being sold for a staggering $4 billion.

The sale comes at a time when the UFC is struggling to keep headline talent health, interested, or simply out of legal trouble.

Former Lightweight Champion Jon Jones, once the world's No. 1 ranked pound-for-pound fighter, has been jailed on felony hit-and-run charges and failed multiple drug tests over the last two years. Ronda Rousey hasn't stepped in an Octagon since losing her Women's Bantamweight title to Holly Holm last November.

Once-untouchable Brazilian middleweight Anderson Silva has lost four of his last five bouts. The one he didn't lose was ruled a no-contest after Silva test positive for banned substances.
