Puig started this season at No. 92 in the world then secured the title as being the first tennis player to win an Olympic gold medal for Puerto Rico. She was bumped up to No. 32 in the world for the U.S. Open when tennis player Sloane Stephens withdrew due to a foot injury.

The 22-year-old Olympic gold medalist is up against player Saisai Zheng in the first round on Monday Aug. 29 at 11:00 a.m. ET.

“There’s going to be a little bit more pressure this year. I think for Monday I’ll be good to go,” Puig said of the 2016 U.S. Open. “I never come to a tournament if I’m not prepared, so I’m here and read to go.”

She tweeted about her excitement Monday morning, showing off her new outfit for the U.S. Open 2016.
