Season 14 of "NCIS" gets off to a rousing start with the Sept. 20, premiere of the "Rogue" entitled episode where the crew probes a deadly D.C. crash that leads directly back to a missing agent.

All the drama marks the introduction of series newcomer Wilmer Valderrama as Special Agent Nicholas "Nick" Torres, who mysteriously disappeared six months earlier while under deep undercover assignment in Argentina.

Valderrama, Esposito Bring new Energy

The new season premiere also marks the introduction of fellow show newcomer Jennifer Esposito in what promises to be a season like no other for TV's most popular drama series.

Throughout the season, Esposito's Special Agent character Alex Quinn is expected to repeatedly bump heads with crew leader Gibbs, commencing with him rejecting all eight of the candidates she sends to him as possible replacements for DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly).

All the back and forth friction between the two ultimately moves Quinn to join the crew herself as the new recruit.

Quinn, Torres' Paths Have Crossed

As it turns out, Quinn and Torres' path have crossed before and they may even have a history together, as Valderrama recently billed the new season as one "complicated, unpredictable" and filled with "love triangles."

Show runner Gary Glasberg recently backed Valderrama's assessment by assuring fans are in for a different level of energy and excitement this season.

Duane Henry (MI6 Officer Clayton Reeves) also joins the cast as a series regular this season, with his character being billed as someone "offbeat with a lot of swagger."

His storyline is expected to be interjected later in this season, white Esposito and Valderrama are both slated to introduced and locked in for the season's opening episode.

After 13 seasons as DiNozzo, Weatherly left the show at the end of last season to pursue other interests.

"NCIS" also stars Emily Wickersham as Eleanor Bishop, Pauley Perrette as Abby Sciuto, Rocky Carroll as Leon Vance, David McCallum as Donald Mallard and Sean Murray as Timothy McGee.
