The Saturday, Sept. 3 Powerball jackpot has soared to $170 million after no one claimed the grand prize in the Aug. 31, $154 million drawing.

With that, the jackpot was rolled over into Saturday's game were a single game winner will have the option of collecting on a cash option payment of $118.1 million.

The winning (white) numbers in Wednesday's game were 5-10-24-56-61. The winning Red Powerball Power Number was 12 and the Power Play number was 2.

Countless Winners

In all, there were 672, 830 winners of at least $4 each. Seven players in Michigan matched four white ball numbers to win prizes of $500 each, thus far the largest winnings in this week's game.

Powerball is offered in 44 States, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Players select five white numbers from (1 to 69) and one red ball (1 to 26) Tickets cost $2 each.

Mega Millions Climbs to $92 Million

Meanwhile, Friday's, Sept. 2, Mega Million jackpot stands at $92 million with a cash option payment of $63 million to a single game winner.

There were no grand prize winners in the Aug. 30 game, propelling that then $84 million jackpot into Friday's game. The winning numbers in Tuesday's game were 28, 32, 41, 51 and 71. The winning Gold Mega Ball number was 11 and the megaplier was 4.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Five balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 75; the Mega ball is drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 15. The odds of winning the jackpot is 1 in 259 million.
