Two Police Officers Attacked With Meat Cleaver Near New York City's Penn Station; Suspect Reportedly Taken Down by NYPD

At least two police officers were attacked near New York City's Penn Station in midtown Manhattan in the afternoon of Thursday, September 15, 2016.

Police officers on 32nd street between 6th and 7th Avenue about half a block away from Penn Station were alerted and they eventually shot and took down a man that was armed with a meat cleaver. Before being taken down, the man was able to strike and hurt a first police officer with his weapon cleaver and hurt a second officer.

Shots were fired and the man was taken down. The aftermath is currently being streamed live on Facebook courtesy of WCBS:
