Drake's "One Dance" is considered as the most streamed song ever on Spotify, the song has been streamed for more than 882 million times on the service. The song has broken the record for 2016.

With the announcement made on Tuesday Drake stole the title from Major Lazer's MO and DJ Snake featuring "Lean On". The song has more than 875 million plays and has been Spotify's most played song last year with 526 million streams across the globe as stated by Billboard.

Other artists who fell behind Drake was Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran, which left his song "One Dance" the most played by any solo artist ever. "One Dance" achieved the number one spot on the official singles chart and remained for 15 weeks during its second week of release in April as per Official Charts.

The other top 10 tracks on Spotify are by Mike Posner, The weekend, OMI and Bruno Mars. The possibility of Drake's "One Dance" being popular may be due to its lack of a music video, listeners took to streaming services instead of free platforms such as YouTube. The song was also the fastest to reach 100 million streams in the UK.

Drake has also been successful with his album views last month since it was the first to hit 1 billion views on Apple Music. The rapper has set a record which is rather difficult to break for now.

With more than 880 million streams the count only gets higher, with two whole months left off this year, it appears that Drake could make is record for the highest streaming song on Spotify only tougher.

Not only did Drake set a record he would have possibly got a ransom price for the amount of streams on Spotify. With two months more it looks like the rapper could touch nearly 1000 million streams.
