Followers of the Japanese hit manga turned anime TV show "Attack on Titan" have been speculating for years how Season 2 will play out. Despite the manga having been released long before, and the season having been delayed for three years, many fans are anxious to see how it plays out onscreen.

Because of the delay, many fans are even speculating that the series will have its own unique story, apart from the popular manga, and will even feature new vital characters. It is widely expected however, that the series will still focus on Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, and the rest of the Survey Corps.

The Parent Herald says that Krista, currently a supporting member of the Survey Corps would have a bigger role in Season 2, with the story following more about the history of the walls and titans, especially why titans are trapped inside the walls.

In addition, new titans will be introduced, and instead of a mindless eating titan, these new titans could become allies, and be more similar to Eren's titan form. The character is thought to be named Zeke, and thought to even be more intelligent, and to have a higher level of control than Eren.

On the downside, a new titan called the Beast Titan is a gigantic ape-like creature said to be much stronger than other titans, with high strength and high speed.

With many fans growing anxious, producers are hard-pressed to finish the season soon. Game N Guide reports that the script had been completed by as early as August this year, but has experienced trouble with production and funding.

Based on how things are looking, "Attack on Titan" Season 2 is slated to air in Spring 2017. Hopefully fans are given their wish this time, instead of delay upon delay they have been facing.
