Apple held an event at its Cupertino headquarters in California to reveal the new version of its MacBook series. Every product of the US tech giant is a masterpiece in itself - the Mac series is certainly no exception.

MacBook Pro

The highly-sophisticated MacBook Pro is the most anticipated device in the event. The new version seems to take Pro's heritage to another level. The 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro are both nothing but masterpieces, with specs that could not go for anything less.

Specs

MacBook Pro models come with larger touch pads and are much lighter than their predecessors. Both models have four Thunderbolt ports with the same shape as the USB Type-C. The keyboard and touchpad has been reinvented, while in terms of hardware the laptop has the same aluminum body like its predecessors.

The most highlighted MacBook Pro feature is the touch bar with customizable, app-specific virtual buttons. It can adapt whatever program you might be using at the time, so long as the program supports the bar. According to Popular Mechanics, the touch Bar is first feature in its type.

The RAM is now faster at 2,133 MHz version and built-in storage can transfer data for up to 3.1 GBs per second, as reported by c|net.

Apple has removed the MagSafe 2 charging port type plus HDMI port, and the SD card was also omitted, making this a slimmer laptop compared to others.

The other member of MacBook family, the MacBook Air, also got some updates but not at a major level. Apple has discontinued its 11-inch Air version but 12-inch and 13-inch models are still available.

The 13-inch version has an updated RAM from 4GB to 8GB. Apart from that, the Air series lacks major updates.

Prices

The 13-inch MacBook Pro without Touch Bar will be available at USD1500, while the one with Touch Bar will cost $1800. The 15-inch MacBook Pro will cost consumers USD 2400. The 13-inch MacBook Air is priced at aound USD 1000.
