Huawei has recently announced its two new flagship Smartphones: Mate 9 and Porsche design Mate 9. Both the devices are power packed with cutting-edge specs. Porsche design Mate 9 looks seriously similar to Samsung's dead phablet Note 7.

Phablet market has been long ruled by the Samsung's Note series. However, fresh controversies arising from the Note 7's explosion-inducing battery problems have led the South Korean tech giant's reputation to plummet. Now, many other Smartphone makers are trying to seize the opportunity to fill in the gap the doomed Note 7 left and Huawei's Mate 9 Porsche design is no exception.

Mate 9 (Porsche design) vs Samsung S7 edge

Hardware                                                                     

According to Pocket-lint, S7 edge hardware varies from region to region. The flagship device has Samsung's Exynos 8990 octa-core processor and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 quad-core chip. The phone features 4GB of RAM with 32GB and 64 GB internal storage options. Porsche Mate 9 features Kirin 960 octa-core processor with 6 GB of RAM. The phone sports 256GB internal memory with dual-SIM option.   

Display

Both the flagships seem to have a close fight in terms of display. The Chinese phone maker's high-end phone features 5.5-inch curved panel QHD display, reports Android Authority while Samsung's flagship has 5.5 QHD AMOLED dual-edge display.

Design

Both the phones are premium built-in-devices with dual-edge display, waterproof and front-mounted fingerprint sensors. But, S7 is slightly slimmer and lighter to Huawei's flagship phone. Mate 9 has Porsche Design logo at the top of the screen, which gives a phone slightly more premium look. S7 edge is water and dust resistant phone, which gives S7 edge an advantage over Mate 9.

Camera

Porsche Design Mate 9 feature 20-MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and optical image stabilization while front facing camera is 8-MP autofocus camera. S7 edge has 12-MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization. The front facing camera is 5 MP. Although, Mate 9 has higher magapixels but still S7 doesn't lack in head to head on the ground competition.
