Good news to all chocolate lovers! The recent study report has suggested that chocolate eating person has a positive association with cognitive performance, makes you clever and prevent a heart attack.

A study published recently in the journal Appetite that they collected data from a Marine-Syracuse Longitudinal Study (MSLS). They measured 968 people aged between 23 and 98 for dietary and cardiovascular risk factors, as well as cognitive function.

"The chocolate loving people have improved their memory and creative thinking. The chocolate appears to make your brain work better", reported by the journal Appetite.

According to one of the leaders of the study Merrill Elias," It's significant- it touches a number of cognitive domains".

In 1970, New York, Mr. Elias had conducted a survey to test the cognitive abilities of more than 1,000 people. He was initially observing at the relationships between people's blood pressure and their brain performance.

Following this analysis of the study, another research was held between 2001 and 2006 at the University of South Australia. The head of the research team Georgia Crichton recognized the study presented a unique opportunity to examine the impact of chocolate on the human brain, by using a vast sample size of just under 1,000.

 According to Washington Post, The researchers identified eating chocolate was strongly linked to superior brain function. The chocolate eating person would be better at a daily task such as remembering a phone number and be able to do two things at once.

Cocoa flavanols, a subgroup of flavonoids, which are found in chocolate, is responsible for positive cognitive function. High levels of flavanols are also found in tea, red wine, grapes, and apples.

Regular intakes of cocoa flavanols have a beneficial effect on cognitive function, irrespective of other dietary habits and can reduce age- related cognitive decline.
