Katy Perry announced that her concert scheduled for Friday in China has been cancelled due to a "Family Emergency." The Firework singer was to headline the celebration hosted by online marketplace Alibaba.

The singer took to the Chinese website "Weibo" and announced her cancellation, Katy had not discussed in detail the reason for cancellation but she stated that it was a family emergency.

According to Perez Hilton, her message read "Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance on the Alibaba Double 11 due to a family emergency. I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon."

Her fans seem to be heartbroken as they took to social media stating that it is a huge disappointment that she will not be performing.

The 32 year old singer will not be performing along with One Republic and Kobe Bryant. Everyone hopes that everything is fine for Katy and nothing serious about her family, she would not have missed out on a concert after all.

As stated on Hollywood Life, she was named a "Global Ambassador" for Alibaba. It is said that David Beckham will be taking the place of the pop singer since she will not be making an appearance.

It seems that Katy had a bad week over the US elections; she has been a huge supporter for Hillary. The singer even took to twitter to express her devastation over Donald Trump's victory. She tweeted "WE WILL NEVER BE SILENCED #LOVETRUMPSHATE."

Reports also stated that Katy's own parents voted for Donald Trump, after that she even shared a message of unity and expressed about the country. Her tweet further stated that "We are not a Nation that will let HATE lead us. Fight for what is RIGHT."

With the US election results and Katy's cancellation due to family emergency the fans who were expecting Katy are very much disappointed. But on the other hand they are pleased to have the football legend David Beckham to entertain them.
