The rising model Sofia Richie recently opened up on her experience on receiving racism comments. Apparently Sofia has been in situations where people have said something racist to her, but the daughter of Lionel Richie is never going to hold back on the way she feels.

In one of her recent interviews Sofia spoke on the racism she has faced in Los Angeles, the 18 year old is certainly proud about her identity. She stated that "I'm very light, so some people do not know that I'm black."

She made sure to put herself forward when these situations arose letting the people to realize that she is light, but Sofia stated that realizing she has a lighter skin tone does not cut it all "Its 2016 and you better get everything together before you get slapped out here" she said as per Vanity Fair.

As Teen Vogue puts it there is surely no excuse for being racist, making racist comments is certainly not right no matter who is around. These comments are easy to trigger off any individual to a boiling point and there is nothing to blame Sofia on the way she reacted. In fact even if the model got furious on racism comments she has all rights to do so.

Standing up against racism has always been a challenge since most of the people give a deaf ear by just ignoring it. When it comes to Sofia she is not shy to correct people who choose to deny her identity.

Lionel Richie is also black and he is sure to be proud of his identity as well, the youngest daughter of Lionel was earlier said to be dating pop star Justin Bieber a few months back. It looks like things did not go hand in hand for them and Justin and Sofia Richie are on their own way.
