Rihanna and Beyonce became a hot topic when fans of both singers fueled the rumors of a feud between the two for the 2017 Grammy Awards. While Rihanna had 8 nominations, Beyonce had 9 and the purported issue started when Riri apparently liked an Instagram post about her album "Anti" not getting nominated for Album of the Year while Beyonce's "Lemonade" made it.

Rihanna, Beyonce 2017 Grammy Awards Feud Fueled by Instagram Fan Account

The "Work" singer was quick to stop the imagined feud and asked for fans to stop pitting "black women against each other" and instead called to be lauded for their accomplishments. Rihanna commented on the controversial Instagram post and explained that the reason why she liked it was because she saw herself in the photo but did not read the caption.

The reason why Beyonce and Rihanna fans were up against another was because the fan account posted a congratulatory post for Rihanna for her Grammy Award nominations. It also mentioned how Rihanna did not get nominated for Song of the Year and Album of the Year and implied that it may be to lessen Beyonce's competition for the awards.
