The South Korean-made zombie movie titled "Train to Busan" was recently reported to have an American adaptation. There were several Hollywood production companies who have participated in bidding for its movie rights.

According to News Everyday, the global film studio Gaumont has won the bid. They have already signed an official contract for this zombie apocalyptic movie. Well, there are other film production lines which have tried to win the movie rights. These companies are Canal Plus, EutopaCorp, Sony Pictures, and the 20th Century Fox.

Meanwhile, as reported by AsiaStarz, Studio Gaumont used to produce French-language projects. On the other hand,  it is also engaged in producing several great English movies like the "The Fifth Element" and "Leon: The Professional". It cannot be denied that many moviegoers were so much interested with "Train to Busan". Also, people from the 69th Cannes Film Festival were amazed by the film.

Moreover, the chief investor of NEW Company's CEO Kim Woo-taek, said, "I'm happy to be collaborating with the best French film studio, Gaumont that has had a record of success with various international productions. Through this opportunity, I hope that Korean movies will gain more exposure with international audiences."

Truly, there will be more exposure of other Korean films and also films coming from Asia. It can also be recalled that this apocalyptic shocker "Train to Busan" hit Korean theaters on July 22 and it has recorded a profit of $81.3 million during its first five days of the opening. It was considered an all-time record at the Korean box office. In America, Well Go USA distributed the original title on a controlled release that generated $1.8 million.

"Train to Busan" is a story about a workaholic and single dad Seok Woo (Gong Yoo). He then takes his daughter Su An (Kim Soo An) from Seoul to Busan. This is to visit her mother as a birthday gift. It was supposed to be a train ride that they usually took. However, it became very chaotic when an outbreak of the virus started turning passengers into zombies.
