According to Digital Spy, there will be apparently 100 new Gen 2 Pokemon included in Gold and Silver to be introduced coming December 12, as new faces and characters will surely shock the Pokemon hunters. Although certain establishments like Starbucks have already supported the online game last December 8, their promotion was not in correlation to the update of Niantic Lab but was just a marketing effort by the popular coffeehouse chain. The promotional partnership of Starbucks and Niantic Lab will make their stores into PokeStops and Gym thus an increase in customer transaction as players will be urged to buy Pokemon Go-themed Starbucks products.

Legendary Pokemon will also arrive together with the fresh new faces of monsters ushering the new era of Staryu, Starme, Clefairy, Clefable, Seel, Dewgong, and Snorlax. A Christmas event is also anticipated to happen for an easier catch of Gen 2 Pokemon from a report by Express. Seemingly an advance Christmas treat for players as steps are reduced for traveling to hatch eggs and earn Buddy bonuses, and a surprise holiday gift if it happens that the First Gen Pokemon characters will be given out without having to search for it.
