On Friday, wireless carrier T-Mobile reportedly made some software improvements to the HTC One -- both M7 and M8.

According to TmoNews, the mobile communications company updated the HTC One M7 with HTC's latest custom user interface, Sense 6 while it enhanced the HTC One M8 by adding the Extreme Power Saving mode to the smartphone.

The Exteme Power Saving mode preserves the phone's power by reducing the device to basic functions that include phone calls, texts and email while also eliminating background data usage.

The Taiwan-based smartphone manufacturer claims that 5 percent of the M8's battery could still produce a few extra hours of usage.

To receive the updates, users need to update their phones manually by going into the phone's settings and updating the software. Most people should have already received a notification that an update is available, according to TmoNews.

In other related news, HTC announced Thursday that it would release a miniature version of the M8 to countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. North America release date is still unknown, however.

Earlier this month, the Latin Post reported on the rumors surrounding the details and specifications of the HTC One Mini 2, which is a follow up to last years miniature version of the M7.

According to Gizmag, the Mini 2 will feature a 1280x720p on a 4.5-inch display with the Snapdragon 400 CPU quad-core processor running at 1.3GHz. It will also have 1GB of RAM, a 2,100mAh battery and 16GB of internal memory as well as a microSD car slot.

The new device weights .3 lbs or 137g and is 10.6mm -- .42 in. -- thick. Instead of HTC's UltraPixel sensor, however, the Mini 2 comes with a single 13 MP camera on the rear and a 5 MP camera on the front but will still have the Touch Up effects application.
