Cristiano Ronaldo presented the Ballon d'Or to the Real Madrid faithful before leading Real Madrid to a 2-0 victory over Granada.

The superstar scored the opening goal of the game, his 22nd of the year, before Karim Benzema added the icing on the cake later on. But the show was Ronaldo's and he made sure no one forgot that he is currently the best player in the world. Moments after scoring his goal, Ronaldo jumped up in delight and raised his pointer finger up to remind everyone that he is number one; a celebration very reminiscent of the one that rival Lionel Messi makes after scoring a goal. Was it a taunt? Possibly.

However, the celebration meant a lot more than just emphasizing that Ronaldo was number one. After the game, Real Madrid was temporarily perched atop the Spanish League with 53 points; the team was six points out of first two weeks ago. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid still have games to play and each team has 51 points this season; a win by either team would put Madrid back into second or third place.

The Spanish League title race is wide open this year. Last year Barcelona ran away with the title early on in the year; however, three teams are in contention for the title. Atletico Madrid was a major contender in 2012-13 but fell off during the second half; this year Los Colchoneros has kept pace with Barcelona thanks to the terrific scoring prowess of Diego Costa.

Who will win the Spanish League in 2013-14?
