There are now two more good reasons to watch the new thriller "2 Guns," and no, neither of those reasons happen to be guns. At the movie's premiere on Monday night, Paula Patton shocked the audience by going topless for the first time ever on screen.

The curvy actress, perhaps best known for her role alongside Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, becomes entangled in a love affair with Denzel Washington in her new movie. Patton made sure to give her family fair warning before they were treated to a surprise peek at her ample bosom.

"This is his first time seeing it on screen. He sees it at home all the time. But yes, this is the first time he's seeing it. And my mom," noted the busty starlet. "I just said, 'Mom, you're gonna see my boobies.' She was like, 'OK, I think I can handle that.'"

The topless love scene between Patton and Washington was actually not originally in the script. After reading through the scenes, however, Patton thought her character's history warranted some partial nudity. That's all well and good, but how did the scene happen in the first place, and perhaps more importantly, how did it go over with hubby Robin Thicke?

"The day before we were gonna shoot the scene, I was thinking that these are people that have been together before and they have just made love, so it seemed really phoney to me to have my shirt on, so I sprung it on (director) Baltasar (Kormakur) that I'm not going to be wearing a top," recalled Patton.

"I asked Robin before and I said, 'It doesn't feel natural,' and he said, 'Just go for it babe, absolutely.' We don't really get hung up about those things... Once I decided to take my shirt off, Denzel was like, 'Well, I'm gonna take my shirt off,' and it became a new scene."

Granted, it would have been a bit hypocritical for Thicke to be anything other than supportive. The musician has received a fair amount of attention after his controversial music video "Blurred Lines," in which he dances around with a bunch of naked women alongside Pharrell Williams and rapper T.I.

"My initial response was I love the clothed version, I don't think we should put out the naked version," Thicke previously said. "And then I showed it to my wife and all of her girlfriends and they said 'You have to put this out, this is so sexy and so cool.'"

Sometimes the world just isn't that fair for the rest of us. Expect "2 Guns" in theaters on Aug. 2. It aims to be another criminal heist thriller that stars Washington and Patton along with James Marsden and Mark Wahlberg.
