Chat show host Jimmy Kimmel has spent the last 14 years of his life dedicated to ABC's late-night talk show. His contract with the network is going to be over in 2019 and reportedly Kimmel wants a break from his famous career.

"I know I will do the show for another three years," Variety quoted Kimmel. "It's possible that will be it. My wife's pregnant. At a certain point, I'd like to have a little more free time. I have very little free time as it is."

The executive producer of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" is known to dedicate most of his waking hours working on the show. Kimmel writes his own monologues and researches guests in details.

The 49-year old stated that he wants to go out on his own terms. The moment he feels like they are repeating themselves, it will be Kimmel's cue to leave.

Jimmy Kimmel doesn't want to work in another late-night show after he is done with "Jimmy Kimmel Live". He is already getting a lot of offers to do a lot of different things.

Kimmel wants to pursue something that will excite him creatively, even if it's not a part of something in show business. The host mentioned his love for painting and sculpturing.

Moreover, he would also like to write a book soon. His current career has somewhat become a hindrance to fulfilling his dreams because it takes so much time.

Meanwhile, as ABC News pointed out, Jimmy Kimmel is rather busy preparing to host the Oscars. He and his wife, Molly, is working non-stop on writing his jokes and puns and she will be present backstage to help some more.

Kimmel also admitted getting a fee of $15,000 to host the 89th Academy Awards. But apparently renting dresses and tuxedoes and limos for himself and the family will make him lose money on the deal. However, Kimmel added that it's the experience and honor that counts.
