Apple's iPhone 8 has raised huge expectations with continuous leaks and promises. But when looked closer competitors have already beaten Apple with the same features at lower prices.

Apple iPhone 8/iPhone X is rumored to have a price tag of $1,000. However, the question remains how much of it is because of the brand popularity.

According to MacRumors, theories suggested that iPhone 8 will feature increased storage space. Another rumor stated that it will be available 64 and 256GB capacities.

However, Forbes noted that 64GB storage space is rather common in most of the high-end Android smartphones and some mid-range devices are including the feature as well. The 256GB claim is also not something new.

Next, comes the curved edge-to-edge screen leak. Samsung has already done it with the Galaxy 7 Plus and the unfortunate Note 7.

The iPhone 8 has been topping the headlines for a possible OLED screen. Granted it's a first for Apple thus the hype is somewhat understandable. However, most competitors are already using this technology for their high-end devices for years.

Wireless charging is another leak expected in iPhone 8.  A fast emerging trend but again tested and tried way before Apple. Samsung has whole Galaxy lineup that supports Qi charging. Apart from that Blackberry Price (selected models), Moto Z (with Mod) and Moto Z Force (With Mod) are also ahead of Apple iPhone in this area.

Other features that are reportedly included in iPhone 8 are high-resolution display, face recognition, the absence of home button, efficient chip and GPU and Waterproof.  None of the features are new to the users who have used brands other than Apple.

Questions are being raised on the practicality of the hype that is iPhone 8. Especially when rumors are rife that it's going to be a $1, 000 device simply because of the features, users are wondering whether the price tag is there just because it's from Apple.
