AMD has finally launched the AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, which is their next generation of high-end desktop processors which will bring a revolution in the PC industry. AMD Ryzen processors deliver a massive increase in IPC along with a very competitive pricing structure. AMD's effort to regain the market it had lost to its closest rival, Intel, is gradually turning into fruition if latest leaks are to be believed.

The launch of AMD Ryzen 5 1600X has started a new start for the Company by bringing the highly competitive x 86 architecture to the market. The launch had taken place at a "Tech Day" event which was generally meant at editors but it was decided to release the details to the public due to a great amount of hype surrounding Ryzen. Currently, AMD Ryzen processors will go on pre-order and officially hit the market on 2nd March 2017.

It is likely that the power consumptions of AMD Ryzen processors will be extremely low and as such the AMD Ryzen 5 1600x will use only 95W. It is said to be a 'Black edition' processor. The processors will carry an 'R7' tag as a prefix. Recent benchmarks from the several demo units disclosed about particular processors exceeding Intel's high-end desktop chipsets. AMD R 5 1600x is one among them and will cost about $259, as per Forbes report.

The initial launch lineup the AMD Ryzen of would include the three high-end processors that are Ryzen 7 1800X, Ryzen 7 1700X and Ryzen 7 1700. The amazing thing is that while Intel's 8 core solution costs $999 US, which is more in the case of Core i7-6900K, AMD's Ryzen 7 1700 will cost just $329 US and have the same or even higher performance when it comes to IPC, WccFtech reported.

Setting the price difference aside, the two processors have almost identical specs. Both sport 6 cores with 12 threads each. The AMD Ryzen 5 1600X has a maximum turbo frequency of 3.7GHz, as the Intel chip maxes at 3.8GHz.

AMD chips will also perform at the rated clock speeds, which is at a 95 Watt TDP while Intel's chips consume 140W. The new XFR feature will allow Ryzen chips to overclock to the extent that the cooling system can take them.
