After the smashing success of the Surface Pro 4 in 2015, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has been confirmed to launch last year only to miss its mark in October. Those who have been waiting for the new Microsoft tablet are simply relying on online rumors to feed their curiosity as very little is actually known about the Surface Pro 5's specs and details. Rumors also mention that the flagship device is set to launch early 2017 and will coincide with the launch of Windows 10 Creators Update.

People waited for the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 in October at the annual hardware event of Microsoft only to find out about the Surface Studio and Surface Book, Digital Trends reported. Speculations now say that the Pro 5 would surely be out when the new Windows 10 Creators Update is launched any time soon. Some also point that this could happen at the Mobile World Conference which will run from February 27 to March 2.

What rumors have churned out so far were speculations about Microsoft Surface Pro 5's display, processors and design. The Surface Pro 4 has 6th gen Intel Core processors which makes sense that the Pro 5 could be using the latest 7th gen Intel Kaby Lake chip, CNET reported. The Pro 5 may have a 4K display, with more expansion ports and an upgrade to USB Type-C.

The Surface Pro 4 entry-level model costs around $899 which includes the tablet with an Intel Core M3 processor, 128GB solid state storage and 4G RAM. A Pro 4 with a Skylake chip costs $999 but with a 255GB internal storage and 8GB RAM. These prices are definitely hints that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could be more expensive considering the latest Kaby Lake chip under the hood.

Finally the rest of the rumors say that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will have a patented active pen that boasts wireless charging. A battery that lasts longer than the Pro 4 may also be possible. The seventh generation Intel processors are known to be more efficient and thus a longer battery life may be expected.
