"Indiana Jones" will soon be hitting the big screens after months of assumptions, confirms Disney. Disney chairperson CEO Robert Iger validated that a fifth "Indiana Jones" movie is currently in the works.

After a ten-year hiatus, the "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" will finally have a sequel as the quest for archeology and ancient artifacts continue. According to the official statement by the Walt Disney Company's website, the upcoming sequel remains untitled, but it will star Harrison Ford as Indy with Steven Spielberg behind the lens, reports Slash Film.

CEO Bob Iger announced during a video interview with Bloomberg News establishing that "more great stories with George Lucas' Star Wars and Indiana Jones, by the way, which will be coming". Iger compared Disney's attainment of Lucasfilm to Pixar and Marvel, which meant carrying on the legacy of Lucasfilm's original projects, thus, automatically meaning building up Indiana Jones.

Previously, rumors regarding Chris Pratt as the lead actor were rife, but Steven has confirmed on multiple occasions that Harrison ford is the ultimate choice for the fifth installment. Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will also be seen making a comeback.

Harrison has always played an adventurer on screen since 1982's Raider of the Lost Ark. For the upcoming sequel, the 71-year old is still the most sought-after protagonist, however, it is still unknown whether he would reprise the role, maintains Independent.

The Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn has widely acknowledged Indiana Jones and appreciated the diversity involved within the crew. "It's rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn't be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven."

Indiana Jones is subjected to hit the screens on July 19, 2019, for a fifth grand adventurous ride in the blockbuster series. As for now, the makers are tight-lipped and no further details have been dished out. But one thing is for sure: Steven is excited to bring back Harrison back on the track. John Williams is also anticipated for a return along with screenwriter David Koepp.
