Sony's Playstation 4 Pro owners have received a new patch v4.50 that comes with a host of new features alongside a major performance influencing hardware boost mode. The update was released yesterday that likely results in better performance for many titles that's currently marketed for the console. The most debated feature at least for now is the 'boost-mode' that has kept their user base on their feet.

The System software update part of the patch v4.50  for PlayStation 4 Pro results in better load times for most titles. Various users also reported that titles like Bloodborne are easily achieving a target frame rate of desktop grade 60FPS. A month other titles that are benefiting from the boost mode, are older titles like Battlefield 4 and Batman: Arkham Knight.

The new update also means that users will now be able to set their own custom backgrounds, that can be sourced from an in-game screenshot that they recently took, reported by Kotaku. The photo mode in certain titles certainly helps in resourcing a decent image for the console's background now that the new features are available. Once an image is selected, users can also change the color of the menu tiles too.

Among other things, players will now be able to add external hard drives, with Sony officially supporting it now. Popular YouTuber Austin Evans, details about the process in one of his recent videos. This means that there are no more concerns about a lack of storage on the PlayStation 4 Pro. Details from Pocket-lint highlight about how users will now be able to install games directly to USB3.0 drives that can stretch up to a maximum of 8TB in size.

The patch v4.50 is apparently codenamed 'Sasuke' that has brought in lots of new features that's currently unavailable in their other PS4 consoles. The quick menu too has seen some improvements with now the notification app made simple and easy to access. The recent update for Playstation 4 Pro is already live, and for those who've not yet downloaded it, now's the time.
