As the fans wait impatiently about the Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date update, the company is not only keeping its launch information under tight wraps, but also its specs and price range.

But if latest reports are any indication, Microsoft's discounts on Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 prices suggests that the company is looking to clear its inventory and make way for its upgraded models. There are also speculations that Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date could well be in March, Tech Radar reported.

However, that seems unlikely as the next gen hybrid laptop is expected to feature the latest Windows 10 Creators Update which is slated for April release. At the same time, there are also reports that Microsoft Surface Book 2 will be powered by Intel's latest Kaby Lake processors under the hood.

As far as the specs are concerned, the new Microsoft Surface Book 2 is anticipated to bump up the display and make it 4K compatible. It will also support VR and come equipped with an improved Surface Pen and a much better graphics card, Channel Pro reports.

While the company has not officially announced Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date yet, the tech writers and industry experts speculate that the next iteration of Surface Book will hit the shelves by the second half of 2017. After Intel's confirmation that their seventh-generation Kaby Lake chip is ready for production, the experts started speculating that Surface Book successor is just a month or two away from being launched.

If the speculation is indeed true, the new Microsoft Surface Book 2 will not only deliver faster performance, but also exhibit improved battery life and sharper visuals. Redmond based giant is yet to confirm the Surface Book 2 release date. Until then, the tech enthusiasts should take this update with a grain of salt.
