Champions League News: Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Monaco, Leicester City Qualify For Quarterfinals

Leicester City has made history by reaching the quarterfinals in the Champions League round of 16.

Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Monaco, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have also all quailed for the quarterfinals.

The second leg of Champions League was full of excitement as tons of goals were scored in this leg including some historical comebacks. Atletico Madrid and Juventus were in the driving seat this week to secure the position in last 8. But Monaco and Leicester City have stunned everyone with their spirited game. Monaco has beaten the English side Manchester City with 3-1 and on aggregate 6-6 and through to the quarterfinals with the away goal advantage. Notable, The French side was in two goal deficit after first leg 5-3 defeat.

On the other hand, it was the English Champions who shocked everyone with their win on Spanish side Sevilla. Leicester had defeated the Spanish club by 2-0 in the second leg and became the only team in England to qualify for quarterfinals this year reports, BBC. It is truly a remarkable achievement by the team, which is playing their first European championship.

Atletico Madrid has booked their place comfortably in the last eight of the Champions League by defeating Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 on the aggregate. It is the team's fourth consecutive time to reach this stage. Italian side Juventus has also defeated Porto 3-0 on the aggregate, reports Mail Online. The team is looking absolutely formidable this season and a favorite to win the league.

The second leg of Champions League will be known for its epic comebacks. Barcelona, Monaco, and Leicester City have made the comeback by tasting defeat in the first leg. The biggest comeback was made by Barcelona by scoring six goals in the second leg. Now the draws will decide the fixtures of Quarterfinals in the Champions League.
