After Samsung's official reveal, it has also been known that the Galaxy S8 is going to be one of the very first smartphones on the market that's capable of hitting gigabit LTE speeds. This is according to a new video from T-Mobile that shows off Samsung's newest smartphone hitting some seriously fast speeds in a test.

According to The Verge, some experts consider this news sensible, given the fact that the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, which is exclusive to Samsung until April next month, would feature its new X16 LTE modem, which is the company's first chipset to be capable of gigabit speeds. Additionally, Samsung has also just announced last month during the Mobile World Congress that its very own Exynos 9 Series 8895 chip, which will also be used for the Samsung Galaxy S8 in some markets, was also reportedly capable of the said gigabit speeds.

Obviously, many also believe that the amazing gigabit number is not going to be the real thing and most users are unlikely going to see those kinds of speeds in real world use just yet. At the end of the day, users will probably be capped by what cellular networks can provide, rather than what the hardware is advertising that it is capable of.

However, it is possible that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is capable of reaching those kinds of speeds should networks be able to support them in the future.

According to Sam Mobile, in addition, the Galaxy S8 will also be the very first smartphone that is capable of taking advantage of the recent LTE-Unlicensed bands of spectrum, in which T-Mobile will soon be supporting later on this year. Along with the new chips, this feature will add up to the S8 likely offering some of the faster mobile internet available on the market.
