Microsoft's upcoming smartphone dubbed as the 'Surface Phone' is expected to arrive this year. Naturally, there is a lot of anticipation surrounding this device. Not only is it long-awaited, but also something that is desperately required in order to revive the lost glory of Microsoft in the smartphone market. As per a report, the upcoming Microsoft smartphone is expected to launch in Q3 of 2017.

The company has had a hard time attaining success, especially in the mobile sector. It is struggling to acquire even the minimum amount of market share with smartphones. It has become even more difficult with big daddies like Apple and Google taking on the market by a storm with their genius smartphone flagships like Pixel and iPhone 7 or 8. Thus, it is essential that Microsoft's Surface Phone makes a comeback with a bang.

CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella reportedly told the Australian Financial Review that the company is currently working on the ultimate mobile device and that even though they might have missed the mobile boom at the moment, the smartphone will surely prove to be a clear-cut proof that Microsoft is serious about establishing itself as a competitive player in the smartphone business. According to PCadvisor, Microsoft Surface Phone might come up with a squared metallic body

Moreover, Microsoft has even been rumored to have purchased a domain called surfacephone.com. If this does not indicate Microsoft's plans of working on a smartphone named Microsoft Surface Phone then we don't know what does. Furthermore, considering the fact that Microsoft has finally done away with their Lumia series of smartphones, it is quite obvious that they plan on coming up with something even more significant in place of the former. Forbes reported that Surface Phone might not come up with hardware technology like hinged display or capacitive edges.

According to several reports, Microsoft is preparing an April launch. However, no official confirmation has come from the side of the company itself. Stay tuned for more Microsoft  Surface Phone updates.
