Chris Evans confirms that he won't play as Captain America ever again. Much to the dismay of the actor and the fans of the famous Marvel superhero, the decision wasn't up to him. The "Avengers" actor revealed in a recent interview that his contract is ending.

In an interview with Collider, Chris Evans mentioned this contract playing Captain America ends after filming "Avengers 4." The third and fourth films of the franchise will be filmed later this year. Meanwhile, the "Avengers: Infinity War" movie filming is currently ongoing.

While the sad reality of him being replaced as the character is a possibility, the "Gifted" actor has not said no outright to extending the contract. Chris Evans adds that he loves playing Captain America. He also expressed that because of this, he is having a hard time letting go of the role.

On a recent guesting on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Chris Evans also addressed the rumors and told the talk show host that his contract is ending. He confirmed the possibility of him retiring as Captain America by the end of the year.

The news spread rumors that Chris Evans' Captain America may have something happen to him in the upcoming "Avengers" films. People reports that speculations say his character may die and thus, his contract ending.

In the same show, Ellen DeGeneres revealed that she and Chris Evans are doing a movie. The actor will be portraying the main character in the movie named "Jekyll." The film is being produced by the talk show host and is based off on a BBC miniseries that was released in 2007.
