Microsoft has officially announced the Xbox One's November release date in the U.S., U.K. and 19 other territories, while Sony has yet to make an official announcement regarding the PS4's release date.

However, while the month has been already confirmed, the exact day of the release has still not been announced. As for Sony, it has yet to make an official announcement regarding the PlayStation 4's official release date.

These two game consoles have been battling it out over specs, prices and now release dates.

International Business Times reports several release date predictions based on placeholder and pick-up dates from online shopping sites. BestBuy announced a Nov. 30 pick-up date for the PS4, hinting that the console will be released on or around that date. As for the Xbox One, a placeholder date of Nov. 27 has been published on Amazon. If PS4's pick-up date and Xbox One's placeholder date remain true, both game consoles will surely be the hype of the holiday season, with Black Friday, Christmas and the New Year just around the corner.

However, Microsoft has issued an official statement regarding the speculated Nov. 27 release date of the Xbox One, telling EGM: "We have not informed our retail partners about a specific launch date for the Xbox One. It is commonplace for retailers to put placeholders dates and prices into our system until they are given a specific date and price. We are excited to release the Xbox One in November 2013."

As for pricing, confirmed reports say the Xbox One is priced at $499, which includes the Kinect camera, while the PS4 is priced at $399 with an optional $60 PS4 Eye camera -- making the full PS4 package $40 cheaper.

Rumors say that Sony made some final adjustments and made the PS4 Eye camera "optional" in order to drive down the price. Vice President and Managing Director at Sony Computer Entertainment in UK and Ireland Fergal Gara was quick to dispel the rumors, telling Tech Radar: "It can't be true because we couldn't possibly have known what the Xbox was going to cost."

Dubbed the mini-pc by Tech Radar, the Xbox One comes with a low power x64 8-core AMD Jaguar CPU, USB 3.0 ports, 8GB DDR3 RAM and a 500-GB hard drive. It also has a Blu-ray read-only optical drive with Ethernet and Bluetooth 2.1.

On the other hand, the PS4 sports an AMD x86 8-core Jaguar 1.6HGZ CPU, USB 3.0 ports, 8GB of GDDR5 RAM and a 500-GB hard drive. It also has a 6x CAV Blu-ray BD-ROM and an 8x CAV DVD. To check out more of the PS4's features, watch the video below.
