The first two games have resulted in victories for the Los Angeles Kings in thrilling overtime fashion.

The Rangers took a 2-0 series lead in game one, only to see Kyle Clifford and Drew Doughty eliminate that. Justin Williams would net his eighth goal of the postseason, when he scored on Henrick Lundqvist in overtime. The Kings prevailed 3-2.

Game two saw a very similar road traveled with the Rangers again taking a 2-0 lead and again the Kings would evaporate that lead. Game two would go into double overtime as neither team was able to score in the first extra period of play and Dustin Brown got the game winner.

In the first two games played so far, the Rangers have not scored a single goal in the third period.

Game three is a must-win for the Rangers, especially considering the team is returning home. The only team in NHL history to recover from an 0-3 deficit in Stanley Cup history is the 1942 Toronto Maple leafs, who rallied to beat the Detroit Red Wings.

Rangers Goaltender Henrick Lundqvist has been playing good, but Jonathan Quick has been just as good for the Kings. His clutch play late in games has enabled the team to take a 2-0 series lead, as he has not scored a single goal in the third period or overtime yet.

The Rangers offense improved much from game one, when the team could only create 27 shots on goal, compared to game two with 38. However, the issues remain the same late in the game. In game one, the Rangers offense could only get 3 shots on Quick. In game two, just seven. There's no doubt the Kings have been the more dominant team thus far, especially around the net area.

Although the Rangers will be playing at home the next two games, many still believe that the two devastating losses in games one and two will have a lingering effect. As long as the Kings win just one of the these two games in New York they will still go back home to game five with a huge 3-1 series lead.

Game three will be played Monday night at 8:00 at Madison Square Garden.
