Even though Kanye West wanted fellow rapper Jay Z to be the best man at his highly-publicized wedding to Kim Kardashian last month, the Brooklyn emcee and his wife Beyoncé were nowhere to be found on the big day. Kris Jenner now breaks silence on their absence at her daughter's special ceremony.

Instead of attending the lavish, star-studded event on May 24 in Florence, Italy, the "Drunk in Love" duo chose to spend their quiet weekend relaxing in the Hamptons, New York. During her radio interview during Australia's KIIS 106.5 FM's the Kyle & Jackie O show Tuesday, June 10, the matriarch of the Kardashian clan simply brushed it off as nothing important.

"If you had been there you would have thought that was the last thing on anyone's mind," she said. "There was so much commotion and excitement, I never really gave that a second thought." The "Keeping Up with the Kardashains" executive producer also revealed that the hip-hop power couple sent their best wishes to West and Kardashian, and that she "just assumed they were working."

However, there were numerous reports speculating why Jay Z and Beyoncé did not show up to the event, some claiming that they might have thought that the wedding was just a publicity-fest or possibly wanted to avoid stylist Rachel Roy, who apparently sparked the infamous elevator fight between Solange and the "Magna Carta Holy Grail" rapper. One source claimed that the pair was not interested: "Jay thinks the entire Kimye wedding is a joke and it's being blown way out of proportion."

"[Jay Z] likes Kanye and Kim, but toally talks smack about them behind their backs," the source added. "When he was asked about the wedding, he just laughed and said, 'The circus goes to Paris!'"
