This coming Thursday is one of, if not the very best days on the sports calendar. From 6:45 a.m. EST to midnight you will get non stop sports action. There are three sporting events that are not just regular everyday ordinary games. These three events showcase the very best of the best, the elite. This is where champions are crowned.

2014 US Open

So you're up early getting ready for work, school, or maybe you're just an early riser. Either way, you're in good hands. The second major of the year will tee off at Pinehurst at 6:45 a.m. Even if Tiger Woods won't be competing, this is still a must watch event for golf fans. The big question still remains, can Phil Mickelson win the career Grand Slam? He's won every other major and he's placed second at the US Open six times, including last year.

Other players to keep an eye include Bubba Watson, Adam Scott, Jason Dufner and Argentine Àngel Cabrera. Cabrera became the second Latin American-born golfer to win a major when he won the 2007 US Open as well as the 2009 Masters. The first Latin American golfer to win a major was Roberto De Vicenzo in 1967, who was also from Argentina.

2014 FIFA World Cup

The kickoff for the biggest soccer tournament in the world begins in Brazil Thursday afternoon. The host nation will face Croatia at 4 p.m. EST in São Paulo. Regardless of what team you want to win, this is a must-watch for fans because it's the first game of the tournament and it only comes around once every four years. Can Croatia handle the heat or will Brazil begin their road for a sixth World Cup title in dominant fashion?

Brazil's defense is led by Dani Alves and captain Thiago Silva. Group A promises to be a competitive collection of nations that also feature Mexico and Cameroon. With the second major of the year teeing off and the start of the FIFA World Cup just beginning, this has been a great day so far.

2014 NBA Finals, Game 4

So it's late at night and you're tired. Why go out when you have to get up early for Friday anyway? Game 4 of the NBA Finals tips off at 9 p.m. in Miami at the American Airlines Arena. The Spurs recently won Game 3 with Kawhi Leonard scoring a career high 29 points. If the Spurs win this game, they will take a commanding 3-1 series lead and the pressure on the Heat will be all time high.

It might be time for Heat to take Mario Chalmers out of the starting lineup and put in Ray Allen. As for the Spurs, balance is the key for victory. Limiting minutes with this aging roster has been done to perfection by Head Coach Gregg Popovich. It's unlikely the Spurs will shoot as unbelievably as they did in Game 3, but expect Tim Duncan to also improve.

It doesn't get much better than this. One event will start the second major of an annual tournament. Another event is a Game 4 of a championship round, and the other match is the start of a competition that is held once every four years. The possibilities are endless. Tell us which event you are most looking forward to.
