Rihanna has gone from Pop princess, to sex symbol, to a cartoon character in DreamWorks' latest animated film, "Home."

The "Home" trailer was released earlier this week and features Jim Parsons as the alien character named Oh and Rihanna as the voice to the film's teenage protagonist, Tip.

Although we do get a small flair of Rihanna's signature Bajan accent for the role of Tip, the pop singer seems to have swapped her Bajan accent for a more Americanized accent in the movie.

Impressive.

Variety reports that "Home" also features the voices of Jennifer Lopez, who plays Tip's mother, and Steve Martin as the leader of the Boov, Oh's alien race.

So what is "Home" about and why should you see it?

Aside from the film's star-studded cast, the movie looks to be full of fun, laughter, and action, judging by the trailer.

The upcoming DreamWorks film is based on Adam Rex's novel "The True Meaning of Smekday."

In both the movie and the novel, an alien race named Boov, led by Captain Smek, takes over Earth to hide from the enemies in Space and attempt to make Earth their new home.

During their Earth takeover, the aliens begin to relocate the human race but the main character Tip manages to avoid capture.

As Tip is set to go on the run to avoid the aliens, she is accompanied by an outcast Boov named Oh. The film focuses on Tip and Oh's journey together as they avoid capture and try to save the human race.

Home is directed by Tim Johnson and co-written by Matt Ember and Tom J. Astle.

The DreamWorks movie will be released on March 27, 2015 via Fox.

The Huffington Post reports that in addition to playing Tip, Rihanna will also be working on a special soundtrack for the movie.
